Sup Bros, just got my new tat in jail after fondling that little girl

It’s been awhile since I last posted. With almost 140 hours invested into the game, I am still craving for more. I am too much of a trophy whore. Well to begin this installment, this series isn’t the greatest, but it is worth the discussion. So here I am blogging about the game that ticked off every single fanboy out there upon the realization of it’s linearity.

Lightning: Niggarider/shotacon

The game is as linear as a dungeon simulator. You go from point A to point B, kill the boss, tada, you are teh AwEsOme. While it lacks depth and a sandbox feel that most western RPG, it makes up for it on the gameplay and storyline. The gameplay is cleverly crafted and is one that will take a little getting used to. But once you mastered the essential sequences, the battles become more interesting and harder. The difficulty level from one enemy to another spikes up like Ron Jeremy’s boner. I go kill little penguins, then there’s fucking uber-turtles roaming ready to pound the living shit out of your asshole.

Fang: Hopefully he didn't forget to bring lube

I must say i am not pleased with the enemy imbalance difficulty. Although it creates randomness and surprises. It will annoy the most novice of players. Requiring them to grind and grind until they get over the hurdle. That said the battle system makes up for it by giving you a variety of options on how to go about killing monsters. Very fun, innovative, and artistic. There’s a ton of Paradigm Options available at any given time.

The Paradigm’s vary from defensive, to supportive, and to the most mind numbing one, offensive. You can have all of these aspect as part of one Paradigm, they call this one “DIVERSITY.” It may be the most sound option, playing around with different varieties will net you the best results. For example “TORTOISE,” which is a defensive shift is you guessed it, defensive. It will have all your characters defend and not attack at all. WOW that sounds lame right. That’s what I thought. I never used it until I faced the harder bosses and got my ass handed to me on a silver platter, nice and warm.

Paradigms, the HP's are really high in this game

To seriously maximize the efficiency and proficiency of the Shifts, you have to know the roles of each characters. The characters role makes them unique, that is apart from their own individual stories. A kid like Hope is you best “Ravager” or magic caster, and Snow is a stud with his defense as a “Sentinel.” This is what I really liked about this particular game. It’s fun to tweak, mix and match and kick-ass.

Dirty Fighting, hehe Eidolons!!!

Now on to the characters. The characters in this game are fabulous. They are very well developed and are just a blast to watch. Especially Sazh, Vanille and Fang. They are all deep in their motives and are driven by something in the present or the past. This was definitely what the linearity was for. To have not one but six engaging characters that you will feel for, makes the experience by far superior to that of the previous installments. Yeah I am talking to you Final Fantasy XII. Man that game wasn’t as engaging, fun nonetheless.

On top of that, the story was a commentary of our fear of terrorism. Fearing the unknown nature of things. Here we have the People of Cocoon fearing those who were branded L’cie. They look at them like monsters and aliens that are clearly not deserving to exist along side them. By alienating such individuals they created a conflict that spans for a century and so the real story begins. The story is about redemption, trials, and genesis. Everyone looking for a new beginning.

Overall this was a pleasant surprise, I didn’t expect to like it. I expected it to be like shit. I regarded Famitsu to be credible enough, and they failed me by not mentioning that this game will get you hooked from beginning ’til the end. With it’s glorious graphics, well-crafted storyline, interesting and engaging characters, Final Fantaty XIII triumphs over it’s predecessor FF XII. With it’s simplicity and linearity this game is worth your money and time.

I LIKE!
